As crowds gathered at the store, DJ Lox hit the turntables in style mixing it up with house music.

He said: “The gig at Cash Generator’s store in Dagenham was fantastic.  It was fun playing some of my favourite house tracks for shoppers and a novel way to showcase my DJ skills.”

DJ Lox was the worthy winner of Cash Generator’s Sound of the Underground competition, a search for London’s next big DJ.

In addition to the gig in store, DJ Lox received some of the latest DJ equipment from Cash Generator – the perfect prize for the budding DJ.

The oldest participant in this Sunday’s marathon, Aeron Rees, 79 compared running notes with Ron, who, at a sprightly 73, informed me that he has ‘only’ run 35 miles this week, which was less than usual. Aeron, who was resting before the big event, has participated in an amazing 54 marathons.

The marathon starts and finishes in Stretford, close to the Metrolink stop and will attract 8,000 people – it’s sure to give Manchester an exciting buzz.

Home improvement experts Job Worth Doing believes in GSI (Get Someone In), not DIY, and has launched GSI month to spread the word that it’s easier to get some help that do it yourself.

The campaign has reached across all media platforms with the help of former Ground Force star Tommy Walsh and his expert advice.   Both Tommy and Job Worth Doing’s CEO Ian Blackhurst undertook a jam packed day of radio interviews, receiving brilliant feedback and coverage.

To celebrate the launch of six new summer services, from East Midlands Airport to Gibraltar, Murcia and Naples and from Birmingham Airport to Barcelona, Lisbon and Rome, bmibaby passengers were treated to a taste of Spain and Italy in the form of a giant mixed paella and special buffalo mozzarella and meatballs pizza.

The stunt was covered by all key regional media reaching thousands of potential holidaymakers across the Midlands and was also well received by passengers.

Job Worth Doing is a national home improvement service, offering a one-stop-shop solution for any home maintenance task. Mere PR has been tasked with promoting the company’s services to homeowners across the UK through a heavyweight media relations campaign, as well securing and setting up partnerships and charity initiatives. The agency will also look to raise the profile of the company to potential new affiliates across a range of industry sectors.

Last year’s placement students Ellie and Natalie came back for a few weeks and were more than happy to get involved.  Dressed in a sandwich board, the girls were hounded by the public all day giving away five pairs of flights at five different locations across the city.

With all flights claimed, sadly there were none left for the Mere PR team!

Organised to raise money for grassroots football across Greater Manchester, the event was supported by Metrolink with each of the 35 tables being named after one of its tram stops.  Our resident Manchester City fan, Dominique, was in her element grabbing an autograph and pictures with her sporting heroes.
