Commencing immediately, Mere PR will implement a comprehensive media liaison campaign to reacquaint old contacts with the Club and proactively introduce new ones. In addition to managing media interest, Mere PR will also arrange a series of exclusive media and customer launch events to mark the official openings of the spa and hotel. Work is due to start on site soon and the campaign will run for the next 18 months.
Kitbag Scores with Mere PR
Europe’s premier online sports retailer Kitbag.com has appointed Mere PR to handle all of the company’s public relations activity.
Mere PR first worked with the Middleton based company in 2009 on the project to launch Everton Football Club’s new retail offer, where Kitbag is the Club’s retail partner and Mere PR was brought in by Everton.
The five month campaign was deemed a great success by Kitbag and Everton alike with massive increases in commercial sales for the Toffees new operation.
Kitbag handles all online activity for the likes of Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, Aston Villa and West Ham in addition to Everton. The company also works in other sporting areas such as Golf, Cricket and Rugby.
Mere PR will be handling all corporate public relations activity for Kitbag in addition to supporting their activities with Everton and other football clubs. The team is making an immediate start by supporting Kitbag’s unique pop up World Cup store on Market Street in Manchester City Centre.
Ray Evans, MD of Kitbag said, “We were very impressed with Mere PR last year especially with their intense knowledge of retail. When we decided to seek permanent PR support across our business it was an easy decision for us to appoint Mere PR as our partner. Their innovation, creativity, knowledge and sheer hard work brings such added value to our business”.

Mere PR announces Adebayor as brand ambassador for POWER HORSE
Following his retirement from international football and just eight weeks before the World Cup, Emmanuel Adebayor has announced his first commercial venture signing as brand ambassador for leading energy drink, POWER HORSE.
The Manchester City forward, who earlier this season galloped the full length of the pitch at Eastlands to celebrate his goal against former team Arsenal, has confirmed that he will help raise the profile of POWER HORSE in the UK.
CEO of Austria-based POWER HORSE, Thomas Königsbauer, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Adebayor – he’s definitely our POWER HORSE. Despite having many commercial offers, Adebayor chose us for the taste and brand personality and we look forward to working with him to develop the brand in the UK.”
The announcement comes at a crucial time in the season. Manchester City take on Manchester United in a high profile local derby at Eastlands this Saturday 17 April, followed by a trip to the Emirates Stadium the following Saturday 24 April to play Arsenal.
With Manchester City intent on securing the all important fourth place in the Premier League to guarantee them a place in the UEFA Champions League next season, all eyes are on Adebayor and POWER HORSE to give him the competitive edge to score and the energy to perhaps run the full length of the pitch again to celebrate!

A bigger ‘Rovers’ return with Metrolink
Mere PR organised for Coronation Street cast members Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) and Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) to launch Metrolink’s 2010 season ticket campaign.
The girls took time out from the cobbles to promote the great savings that can be made with each of Metrolink’s four season tickets – weekly, four weekly, quarterly and annual.
Brooke Vincent and Helen Flanagan commented: “Coronation Street, which is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary is an integral part of Manchester’s history. The fact that a tram can be seen passing by in the opening credits of every episode shows just how much the new Metrolink system has become a symbol of modern Manchester.”
